Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) will host the 1st Social Science, Humanities and Economics Conference, taking up a theme: Promoting social change for sustainable development goals. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for researchers around the globe who want to present on-going or completed research results in the broad area of humanities and social sciences. This conference will also be a perfect place for researchers and academics across disciplines to interact and build network.

The conference will feature a plenary and individual sessions which address a wide range of topics within various fields, such as culture, education, literature, linguistics, economics, business and accounting, sociology, anthropology, communication, law, etc.

Keynote Speakers

Johnny Jermias, Ph.D
Professor of Accounting at Simon Fraser University, Canada.
His specialization and research interests are judgment in Decision Making, Strategic Management Accounting, Performance Measurement and Productivity, Innovation in Management Accounting, Corporate Governance, and Corporate Disclosure.
Eka Srimulyani
Professor at Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Aceh, Indonesia.
She earned her PhD at the Institute for International Studies, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Her expertise and research interests are in the area of Islamic Education Studies and Gender Studies.
Pratiwi Retnaningdyah
Lecturer at the English Department of Universitas Negeri Surabaya.
She earned her PhD on Cultural Studies from the University of Melbourne. Her thesis is on Literacy, Modernity and Indonesian Domestic Workers in Hong Kong. Her current research interests are literacy practices in school, family and community contexts.
